1. Tell us about yourself.

Well, I’m just a dorky chick from California that loves being silly and making myself laugh…oh, I also like to sew stuff! Aside from making clothes, I love web design, it’s something that I’ve been studying for what seems like forever. I also like collecting vintage horror movie posters, playing Ms. Pacman or Rad Racer, watching bizarre horror flicks ‘til my eyes pop out and having deep conversations with my Siamese cat, Zorro.

2. What got you into your craft?

My mom. She’s been a seamstress from the time she was a teenager so it’s something that has been around me my whole life. I started out making slutty tube tops, it was all I could make, for my Barbies on my mom’s sewing machine. Later, when I was older, I helped my mom sew and through that, I learned to make various types of clothing. I started making tops for myself and I absolutely loved having clothes that were different and knowing that no one else would be wearing the same thing.

Describe the ultimate sandwich.

Definitely one I don’t have to make myself hehe. I love turkey and Swiss with lots of spinach leaves and black olives, a dash of salt and pepper, a few pickles and a bit of oil and vinegar. Now I’m hungry…let‘s go eat!

4. What's your favorite charity and why?

Any charity that helps animals, I just adore animals! I don’t like to see them mistreated and I hate to see them suffer. The Animal Rescue site is probably one of my favorite sites to visit, they make giving so easy, just click and a rescued animal is fed.

I'm a single mom of a fantastic 5 year old boy and I'm crafty.

2. What got you into your craft?

I've been crafty since I crafted my way out of the womb. My current craft was from the love of tattoos and kustom kulture.

3. If you were a salad, what kind of dressing would you have?

Poppy Seed, cause it has the best flava'

4. What's your favorite charity and why?

I would say anything with animals, since they can't speak for themselves.

This heart shaped resin necklace features a silhouette of a spider and web against a neon green glitter background. Also, I have added a layer of fishnet to the background, something that really makes my resin jewelry original.

The pendant hangs down about 1.5" and is 1.3" across. The necklace is strung on a 18" length of thin gunmetal ball chain. This length can easily be adjusted by you with a quick snip of the scissors.

1. Tell us about yourself.

My name is Mary and I'm vegan, love to bake and love to create!

2. What got you into your craft?

My parents were always very supportive of me and my artistic inclinations, I've always drawn, sculpted, painted, created. I decided to start my own business after years of making items for myself, family and friends. I had so many ideas that I wanted to share them with more people, so I opened my Etsy shop in 2007.

3. If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would play you and your love interest? And what genre would it be?

I have no idea who would play me or my love interest, but I know Tim Burton would direct it! XD It would be one of those movies that is inspirational without being cheesy or preachy.

4. What's your favorite charity and why?

Bead for Life.org, because they are a non-profit group who created a way for women in Uganda to work and make money for their families by turning something they already did into a marketable product, creating paper beads and paper bead jewelry. The charity helps women have better self esteem while earning money for their families and communities.

1. Tell us about yourself.

I'm goofy and dorky. I like campy stuff. I love to dance. My craft room is my life.

2. What got you into your craft?

I'm not really sure. I like making things and I remember watching my mom make lampshades when I was a teenager. I suppose I just wanted to add my sense of style to that craft.

3. What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

Vodka and various items from Trader Joes.

4. What's your favorite charity and why?

It's more of an organization, but Furry Friends Rescue here in the Bay Area. They do a wonderful service to homeless animals and I got my two little rascals Henry and Willow from them.

1. Tell us about yourself.

~I'm a street-walkin' cheetah with a heart full of napalm! (Not really, I don't prowl around, but I do have some napalm in me). Really though, I'm a music fiend who enjoys creating one of a kind pieces that will make people feel ready to rock! Because honestly, there's nothing better than awesome music & badass fashion. I've been at this for about 9 years now as a part time business, and look forward to being able to create full time at some point. I adore animals, traveling, and avocados...not necessarily in that order :)

2. What got you into your craft?

~I started out pinning band patches onto my clothes with safety pins, because I either couldn't afford or didn't like the regular merch out there. I began cutting shirts up, and before I knew it, I was pinning leopard fabric on everything & decorating with pyramid studs. I started buying some handmade stuff off eBay, and realized I could play that game too, and probably better than the stuff I was buying! And so it began...

3. If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life (it would be magically clean all the time), what would you wear?

~Black jeans, black hoodie, and lots of metal :)

4. What's your favorite charity and why?

~Any animal charity, I like to help the ones that can't help themselves.

I am a married, mother of two little girls.

2. What got you into your craft?
I honestly can not remember what got me into my craft, lol! I have always loved to draw and I guess this was just another way to get creative.

3. Where would you go on vacation if you could go anywhere in the world and everything would be paid for?
(this is easy) I would go to Hawaii! I was stationed in Pearl Harbor and I fell in love with how beautiful it is over there. 

4. What's your favorite charity and why?
My life has been most affected by diabetes, my grandpa had it and my aunt my uncle also have it so I think that any charity that helps with diabetes will be close to my heart.

Charity Shop: Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research

The mission of Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research is to achieve excellence in the rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, and oiled native wild birds, with the goal of returning healthy birds to their natural environment. We do this through compassionate care, humane research, and education.

Experts from Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research are leading the wildlife rescue efforts following the Deepwater Horizon incident in the Gulf of Mexico. Tri-State's oil spill response team has been on the Gulf Coast since the last week in April and is working with their West Coast colleagues, International Bird Rescue Research Center, and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to manage the rehabilitation of oiled wildlife.

1. How would you describe your work/style?

I'm not sure how to describe it. I sit at my work table and stare at the materials until it just comes to me. I get an idea and just run with it. That way each piece ends up with a style of its own.



2. What inspired you to start creating and selling your work?

My grandmother is very crafty. I think I get it from her. So, it started out as a hobby. I made things for myself, friends, and family. My neighbor found out what I did. She makes jewelry and did craft shows. She helped me get started at the shows. Then I found the Diyscene forums. That is where I found out about Etsy.




3. What are your favorite causes/charities?

My favorite causes are anything to do with animals. I have always volunteered and done rescue work with animal organizations. My heart belongs there. I also have volunteered with special needs children. That would be my next choice.



4. Where else can we find your work?

I mainly sell on Etsy. I also do a lot of work in my city. I do private parties and craft shows. I tell everyone to feel free to contact me if they have any questions or want to see additional pieces.
